High school students at Visions In Education have a variety of community college options. Earn high school and college credit at the same time and get a head start on a college degree or career.
Enroll at Visions to have the flexibility to earn college credits while still in high school. *Classes at many CA community colleges are now tuition-free for high school students. Visions helps cover book and materials costs.
Take virtual college classes at American River or Folsom Lake College. These free classes are reserved for Visions students only and you receive support from a college professor as well as a Visions counselor and teacher.
Dual Enrollment Special Admit allows students to take classes of their choosing at any community college in our service area. The student will need to apply to the college. Visions students will take the course with college-age students and receive support from the professor. Visions will help cover costs of books and materials.
Career Technical Education (CTE) provides courses that integrate technical training and academics to help students develop the knowledge needed to transition to career training, college and the workforce. Did you know healthcare is currently one of the fastest growing career sectors in California and the nation? Visions offers the Medical Careers CTE Pathway to Independent Study and University Prep students who intend to enter the growing healthcare career field.

Gaming is one of the most popular career exploration choices for teens. The Career Technical Education (CTE) Game Design & Simulation Pathway is designed for Independent Study and University Prep students who are looking to learn the fundamentals of game design.
The curriculum, taught by a Visions teacher, focuses on foundational knowledge including programming in JavaScript, drawing in Pixilart and creating original games. This pathway also includes essential programming techniques and guest speakers.
Cybersecurity is one of the fastest growing technology fields and our Cybersecurity Pathway is designed for students interested in a career in cybercrime prevention. This is a two-course pathway that provides the technical understanding of networking and security, as well as the communication skills and professionalism required of all entry-level IT positions.
By completing this pathway, students will have an understanding of academic and career paths they can take to achieve their future goals, including community colleges, trade schools, and 4-year college IT programs.
