“Your class has demonstrated remarkable tenacity, resilience, and determination in times of unprecedented uncertainty. But you have risen to the occasion and thrived in spite of these challenges. You have adapted and grown with the changing times and learned what it takes to succeed. If you carry even a small part of that drive with you going forward, then no challenge will be insurmountable.” – Superintendent Steve Olmos

Congratulatory Remarks
“You have shown valiant effort by bravely creating a learning path that works for you and your strengths, needs and dreams. Not many people have the courage to carve out their own path in life. Not very many people have the tenacity to be in charge of their own education but you know this is what life is. It’s facing the great unknown future. It’s pinning our hopes and dreams on what comes tomorrow even if we don’t know what the future has in store for us. So that’s life and that’s adulthood, welcome to it. Anyone who carves out a path for themselves that is not yet defined must have vision and you are a Visionary. You must be able to see the invisible and the good stuff that is yet to come, however there may have been moments you felt lost on your journey, when you didn’t know if all that effort you were doing was going to add up. Well it did. Congratulations on today!” – Katie McCleary, Visions In Education Board of Directors Chairperson

Superintendent Remarks – 3/16/21
Dear Potential Graduates and Families:
Congratulations to this year’s Graduating Class, our largest yet! Commencement is a monumental event, marking this well-deserved milestone in your educational career.
Historically, Visions has held a large, all-school ceremony at Sacramento’s Memorial Auditorium. Unfortunately, we have been unable to secure the Auditorium, or alternate venue that would serve our nearly 1,000 graduating students and their families. After considerable thought and discussion, we have made the decision to cancel the large-scale graduation ceremony in favor of an alternate celebration.
We have already begun making plans for a pre-recorded virtual graduation, similar to the 2020 event, including speakers, student performers, and special recognition of our graduates (here is the link to last year’s pre-recorded ceremony, in case you missed it).
We are also looking at additional ways to celebrate our graduates, above and beyond the virtual event, and will be seeking input from students and families. Please, open the attached link, and complete the survey regarding this year’s graduation ceremony. We look forward to hearing from you!
We will keep you apprised of developments, as they unfold, utilizing email messages, as well as the WIRE (under the “Helpful Links” section, under “Graduation 2021 Information”, Launchpad login required).
Again, congratulations on your hard work to get to this point. Should you have any questions, please contact your Principal or Teacher.
Sincerely,
Gary S. Bowman, M.S.,Ed.
Interim Superintendent
